Project Details:

The Lovell Homes development at Whiteheads in Newport is a new residential housing scheme, with WDL Ltd appointed to deliver the associated infrastructure works. As part of the development, our team is undertaking the construction of approximately 14,300 square metres of new access roads, providing the essential infrastructure required to serve the new homes.

The surfacing works involve a three-layer asphalt road construction, comprising an asphalt base course, binder course and surface course. This multi-layer construction provides a strong and durable foundation, designed to withstand regular vehicular traffic and the long-term demands of a residential development.

The extensive access road network will provide safe and reliable routes for residents, visitors and service vehicles, while also supporting construction access as the wider housing development progresses. Careful planning and sequencing of the surfacing works are essential to ensure the roads are delivered to the required standards alongside the ongoing construction programme.

With approximately 14,300 square metres of access roads forming part of the project, the scheme represents a significant infrastructure and surfacing package. Works are currently ongoing, with the surfacing progressing in line with the wider development programme.
